I loved how this book carried a beautiful and important message about not giving up on yourself and not giving in to bullying. I really really enjoyed it.
If you've read Undeclared, you must have met Bo already and fell in love with him, right? You must have done! Bo is a charmer, a fighter and a boy-slut, but at the same time there is a hidden darkness in him, otherwise he wouldn't have gone through Marines, not with him being a rich boy and all.
Bo meets AnneMarie in his Biology class and starts noticing little tiny adorable details about her. He is intrigued and tries to find out more about the girl, and when he does, he sees someone who's been slowly and methodically made an outcast for no reason at all. Thus Bo takes on a quest. And I think it's exactly what his psyche needed. A purpose, some good deed to redeem him, to alleviate his fears.
AnneMarie (or AM) herself is a fabulously strong heroine. She might suffer and cry her eyes out, but she stands up for herself even when she wants to curl on the floor and disappear. The girl has balls, my dear readers!
Jen Frederick writes new adult the way I believe it should be written ever since I first tried it with Easy by Tammara Webber. There is romance, there is sexual exploration, but above all there is huge personal growth, character development which will make you who you are in the years to come, and I adore it.
Huge thumbs up, and please do read it, as it's a lovely, sweet and emotional story.
