Bloodlines

Bloodlines - Richelle Mead I must confess I was preparing myself for the worst after reading some of the reviews on this book, but actually it wasn't bad at all. I'll keep it short because I think most of you read it by now.

First of all I liked Sydney, although I wished she showed even more backbone than she did. The trick with coloured hair was brilliant, however her inability to see the obvious as in the connection between the tattoo parlour and vampires was really annoying.

Also, Adrian. What the hell happened to him? He is a pale shadow of himself. Where is all his spark? I was led to believe there will be some sort of romantic interaction between him and Sydney, but there is a tiny bit of interest by the end from his side.

We were promised to see Rose and Dmitri, and yes we did. Once, Rose. Once Dimitri. We probably got couple of sentences off Rose and that was it. Hell of a teaser, Richelle.

The last complaint is the book is slow. Its dragging its feet, and not much is happening in the endless circle of school, worry for Jill, worry for Adrian, petty grievances from the local alchemist, blah-blah-blah...

Still, Richelle's strong side is her writing, and I'm willing to give this series a chance to see if it picks up the pace. Overall, easy, light read, comforting but not exciting.
