Deeper Than Midnight (The Midnight Breed, Book 9)

Deeper Than Midnight - Lara Adrian My love-hate relationship with Lara Adrian started years ago on the wave of BDB popularity. Sadly after first two-three books the series just didn't progress, so I don't have an excuse really why I am still reading it.

Book #9 is just about the same as the rest of them. The men are prone to noble stupidity, women run around pregnant and barefoot, the villain is still not getting killed and persistently annoys the hell out of me.

OK, what irks me the most is that the women are just as capable as men, some of them are ex-cops or warriors, and all they do is sit in the compound, gossip and drink tea while their world is slowly going to hell...

Also passionate love moments happen at the stupidest moments when the couple should actually run for their life.

Overall, I would say that unless you like me got hooked on this series years ago I wouldn't recommend it to you. Read instead J.R.Ward who is at least entertaining or Lynn Viehl who has actually got the world-building and the character development in her books.
