I really wanted to like this book just as much as the first one, but it didn't work out for me. It was just all over the place.

This series is very original and fresh, but I feel like it needs more focus. The plot was going from one thing to another in a blink of an eye. There was no groundwork for certain actions and it was like I was missing some bits of info to give me a fuller picture of events.

I think, up until Noel and Abby's journey everything was going really well. The training and conversations were really interesting. Then we started getting confusing behaviour from all the parties, villains out of the magician's hat, and lack of world-building...

The end of the novel was like scrambled eggs. Tasty but hell of a mess to look at :)

I do like the ideas of this series, but they are not properly developed yet. I hope the book #3 will change that.
