Shadow of the Sun: Timeless Series, Book One

Shadow of the Sun - Laura Kreitzer This book has definitely got potential, and I might be tempted to read more. However, I thought that interactions between Gabriella and FBI were particularly written in a very naive way (and this is in this day and age, where they are a powerful organization and not something that can be dwarfed in a way it was in this book). The story I thought also wasn't very well thought through and the characters were quite one-dimentional and messy.
What's behind Karen and Jeff? Aiden? What's up with the Elders seeing Gabriella only once? I just had too many questions.
Again, a lot of people will like it. But after reading someone like Lilith Saintcrow, Adrian Phoenix and Ilona Andrews it's extremely difficult for me to compare the skill and writing of other authors to them.
So you'll either love it or not, but at least you won't stay unmoved.
